Using techniques from a wide array of disciplines such as operations research,
computational intelligence, and complexity science we are able to model and
optimize processes and operations within an organization to realize higher
efficiencies and profits. Infinity makes use of five research fellows (all
with PhD's in computer science and related disciplines) to ensure that the
solutions it provides are at the state of the art and offer the highest
competitive advantage to its clients.
Our typical engagement involves the following four steps:
Identifying key performance hot spots
We work with top management to understand the company's structure, workflows,
and/or operations to identify areas for which significant improvements can be
made. This can take place in manufacturing setting as well as a services or
distribution setting.
Brief top management about appropriate courses of action
We inform top management about the various means by which improvements can be
brought, and about the risks and promises involved. We make management aware
of the trade-offs involved in changing work practices vs. operational and cost
savings as well as the various technological options available. Technological
options can vary from implementing a full fledged Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system, to building domain specific optimization and modelling tools. It
may be geared to specific business areas such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain
Management (SCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or Data Warehousing.
It could also be a management information system (MIS) that ensures compliance
to specific export standards (QIZ, BRC, IS0 9000 family, etc).
Train company staff about chosen course of action or solution
We conduct courses to educate staff about changes that will occur in the
workflow as a result of the selected solution and the how to work with it to
obtain optimal performance. The courses also instruct the staff about how they
can contribute to the successful implementation of the proposed solution.
Solution Implementation
We work with top management and designated solution champion(s) within the
company to implement (or in certain cases supervise the implementation of) the
chosen solution. We manage the implementation project to ensure the milestones
are met and the promised benefits are fully realized.
